From a 9-1-1 call for a single person’s cardiac
crisis, to ambulance requests for multiple gunshot wounds, STAT
EMS’s systems are ready to respond to all varieties of emergency
requests. STAT EMS ambulances and Specialty TRANS services serve
a key role in Genesee County and the Flint Community.
STAT Emergency Medical Services, Inc. was founded in 2001 in response to the
concern that ambulance service in Genesee County was inadequate to meet the emergency
and inter-facility needs of the community.
A short time after STAT EMS began providing services
within Genesee County, the City of Flint Fire Department discontinued
its EMS transport program. STAT EMS responded by dedicating resources
to insure that EMS calls in Flint would be answered within appropriate
response times. STAT was able to quickly open stations staffed
with laid-off Flint City paramedics in and around the city in order
to provide balanced coverage. In 2002, STAT EMS continued to grow,
demonstrating that STAT EMS could not only handle high-volume urban
areas reliably, but could also provide alternative EMS solutions
to rural areas where volume alone did not support reliable EMS
service.
STAT EMS is growing its partnerships with private, Governmental
and public organizations, including other ambulance companies,
hospitals, fire departments and nursing facilities. Such partnerships
are a key ingredient towards providing both public safety and quality
patient care to those in need.
With more than 80 ambulance personnel and support staff, STAT EMS is large enough
to have extensive reach, yet small enough to still offer personal and customized
medical care and services.
STAT EMS, Inc. currently operates 17 ambulances and 6 Specialty TRANS units and is headquartered in downtown Flint. STAT EMS will respond to over 25,000 requests for transportation services in 2008. |
